Welcome to the 3rd edition of Master Ballet Education (MBE 3), Zagreb’s premier summer academic ballet intensive, running from July 2nd to July 10th, 2026.

Udruga Baldovin Ballet Zagreb, as an official Margot Fonteyn Academy Associate Program since 2022, serves as the exclusive gateway to world-class classical training in Central and Eastern Europe. Under the artistic leadership of George Alexandru Baldovin—Director of the Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet Program for Croatia and Eastern Europe—this intensive bridges rigorous studio training with the demanding aesthetic benchmarks of elite international performance.

Masterclass & Repertoire Focus

This summer, we are proud to offer an unprecedented program focusing on iconic neoclassical and contemporary masterpieces. Dancers will train directly under the guidance of world-renowned choreographers and master teachers:

• HAMLET (Neoclassical Narrative) – Choreographed by Leo Mujić (staged at HNK Zagreb). Dissect dramatic tension, dynamic weight transfers, and emotional geometry.

• MODROBRADI / BLUEBEARD (Somatic Secrecy) – Choreographed by Staša Zurovac. Study visceral partnering holds, command, and performance durability.

• RADIO & JULIET (Contemporary Precision) – Choreographed by Edward Clug, led by first soloist Tijuana Križman Hudernik. Master the hyper-precise, staccato physical language scored to the atmospheric alt-rock of Radiohead.

To cater to different levels of expertise, MBE 3 is split into two distinct, high-intensity paths:

1. Foundational Mechanics & Theatrical Movement Lab (3-Day Track): Engineered for adult beginners, intermediate students, and recreational dancers (ages 15+) focusing on core stabilization, secure alignment, and movement longevity.

2. Advanced Masterclasses & Neoclassical Structural Narrative (5-Day Track): Designed exclusively for advanced students, vocational ballet school pupils, and professional dancers seeking to master complex variations and stage dynamics.

About Us

 

Baldovin Ballet Zagreb was founded in 2020 by Iva Vrgoč and George Alexandru Baldovin.

George Alexandru Baldovin is a former ballet dancer with the Croatian National Theatre (HNK Zagreb), SNG Maribor, European Ballet London, Bucharest National Opera, Iași National Opera, and Constanța State Opera.During his distinguished career, George Alexandru Baldovin had the opportunity to work with world-renowned choreographers and masters, including:

• Vladimir Malakhov, Nacho Duato, Irek Mukhamedov, and Edward Clug

• Patrice Bart, Youri Vámos, Leo Mujić, and Victor Litvinov

• Derek Dean, Hans van Manen, Milko Šparemblek, and Lorca Massine

• Joyce Cuoco, Vladimir Derevianko, Pascal Touzeau, and Paul Boos (The George Balanchine Trust)

Currently working as a freelance professional ballet dancer, choreographer, and music composer, his vision is to share his vast knowledge and international experience to promote the art of classical ballet.

The mission of the Baldovin Ballet Zagreb association is to encourage, develop, and share the artistry of classical ballet, while raising cultural awareness of the entire dance art form through professional and recreational programs and world-class events.

The quality and dedication of Baldovin Ballet Zagreb’s work was officially recognized by the prestigious Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet (USA), resulting in Baldovin Ballet Zagreb proudly becoming a Fonteyn Academy Associated Program in 2022.
